Hi, I'm Tyler. My love of baking started at seven years old in my grandma’s kitchen in California’s Central Valley. In such an agriculturally heavy area, seasonal wasn’t a trend, it was a way of life. From an early age I had a love for using only what was in season at the time, creating sweet treats from the fresh produce that was so wonderfully abundant in the area. After moving down south to attend CSULB, I fell in love with the diversity & culture of Long Beach & decided to make it my home. It’s the best big city with a small town feel!
After college, my baking journey continued as I worked & managed a successful family-owned bakery in Long Beach for several years. It was during that time that I started dreaming of owning my own small business one day. After having my first baby, I made a commitment to follow my dream of being a small business owner & set out to create a space that was a fresh & playful take on the local donut shop where I could build connection & community. The stars aligned and I was able to get the perfect, tiny location on Long Beach’s 4th Street Retro Row.
Do Good Donuts aims to partner with other local small business vendors & organizations, whenever possible, & to dedicate our business to the wonderful, vibrant city we love! Above all, we envision our little shop to be a place where the local community can gather to enjoy good people, good times, & good treats.
